Oh No Say It’s Not So, Miley

Miley Cyrus of the hit series, Hannah Montana, has indicating that this might be the last season of show.  

“We’re thinking this is our last season,” the starlet told E! News, “I just think we did a lot of episodes. We basically did two seasons in one season last year. Usually people would do one season that would be 16 episodes, and we did almost 30 episodes.”

Disney remains optimistic and replied by saying, “We start production on the third series of Hannah Montana on August 4 and have an option for a fourth season beyond that. We look forward to the Hannah Montana feature film coming to a theatre near you in spring 2009″.

Miley along with her father, country rock music star Billy Ray Cyrus, has been instrumental in turning the Disney Channel’s hit Hannah Montana into the huge billion dollar success it has become.  

Let’s hope Miley changes her mind.

Hannah Montana: Life’s What You Make it Teaches Vital Lessons

You can tell when you have made it to the top when you receive a reference on The Simpsons. Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana, broke that popularity barrier in December, 2007 when Bart had to write on the blackboard “The capital of Montana is not Hannah.” In the same month, Wheel of Fortune featured the celebrity in one of its puzzles.

A remarkable list of movies and television shows aimed at audiences of varying ages and interests have paid homage to the ubiquitous character. The madly popular Disney show is seen in countries all over the world, in Asia, Australia, South America, Africa, and Europe as well as its native United States.

The lead character is Miley Cyrus, daughter of country star Billy Ray Cyrus, who also stars in the show. Hannah Montana debuted in 2006 and was an immediate triumph. Nominated for an Emmy Award, the series is now in its third season. It has spawned video games, sold out concerts and controversy over ticket scalping prices which in cases have reached thousands. Of course, there have been DVD releases of the series entitled Living the Rock Star Life, Pop Star Profile, One in a Million, Life’s What You Make It, and Behind the Spotlight

While all the shows revolve around the antics of a teenage girl living a double life-student by day, music star by night-Life’s What You Make It focuses predominantly on coming of age and finding oneself. Centered on the trials of first love, these episodes follow Miley/Hannah through her star struck relationship with television heartthrob Jake Ryan, who may or may not be what he appears to be. They place value on individuality and remaining true to your identity.

Hannah Montana is a delightful series that any adult can feel comfortable about letting their children watch. The character’s allure and the plot involving the secrecy of her hidden identity draws both boys and girls-and, in one extraordinary instance, the governor of Illinois! Everyone is attracted to Hannah Montana.

The Not So Secret Beginnings Of Hannah Montana

Would it have made a difference if the television show Hannah Montana was called Alexis Texas? Your favorite show would not have been named as such had the powers that be chosen Alex Texas, The Popstar Life or The Secret Life of Zoe Stewart as the show’s title.

This Emmy Award nominated show has come a long way from its beginnings as a mere episode of That’s So Raven, another famous Disney Channel show.  The original idea for the show Hannah Montana was actually based on the Goin’ Hollywood episode of That’s So Raven but it turned out to be a full show which debuted on television in March 24, 2006. 

If you are a Disney Chanel fanatic then this teenager who lives a double life as the average teen Miley Stewart on one hand and as the famous pop diva Hannah Montana on the other hand is a familiar fixture in your living rooms.  But for those who may not know the famous pop singer Hannah Montana who is played by equally famous Miley Cyrus in real life, then there is still time to catch up on the TV show which the whole town (and even other parts of the world with access to the Disney Channel) is raving about. 

Aside from Miley Cyrus, Hanna Montana also stars Miley’s real-life father Billy Ray Cyrus who plays Robby Stewart, her reel father.  Hannah’s best friend Lilly in the TV show is played by Emily Osment while her older brother Jackson is played Jason Earles.  The other stars in the TV show are Mitchel Musso who plays Oliver Oken and Moises Arias who plays Rico from the start of Season 2. 

Call it twist of fate but Miley Cyrus first auditioned for the role of Lilly.  However, the producers thought she was the personification of the lead character playing the dual role of Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana so she got the lead role. 

The names of the characters in the Hannah Montana TV show has encountered a lot of changes from the time the show was conceptualized up to the time it debuted on TV. Best friend Lilly’s name which was changed from Lilly Romero to Lilly Truscott while Miley, the alter ego of Hannah Montana, was changed from Zoe Stewart to Chloe and then later on to Miley after Miley Cyrus for the part.  Even the name Hannah Montana was not spared from name changes.  In fact, Hannah’s original name was supposed to be Anna Cabana, Alexis Texas or Samantha York. 

Hannah Montana may have started as a children’s TV series but it has metamorphosed into something bigger and has invaded the concert world and the commercial world spawning Hannah Montana dolls, gift products and other items that has made Miley Cyrus a byword not only among teenagers but also among their parents and other adults who also enjoy watching the TV series. 

Now, Hannah Montana is what you call a character whose time has now come. And she is taking not only the United States by storm but the other continents as well.
